我见到过如此两个句子：
（1）Her most favorite fruit is orange. 她最喜欢的水果是桔子。（辞典例句，具体书名忘记了）
（2）It's an orange.（摘自人教社2013年6月第2版义务教育教科书《英语》初一上册Starter Unit 2）
orange在这两个句子中都是表语，为何一句不需要不定冠词，一句用不定冠词？这两个句子中的 orange 和 an orange 可以互换吗？为何？
（1）Her mostfavorite fruit is orange.
（2）It's anorange.
以上两句都对。orange 是一个“可变名词”（可数不可数均可）。第一句不可数表示橘子这种水果。第二句可数指一只橘子。
Lee broke off asmall piece of orange and held it out to him. （不可数）
李掰下一小瓣橘子递给他。
